Part time post office

La Poste has announced new opening hours for the Varen branch. From this week it will open all day (except for lunch 12h - 13h45) on only two days, Tuesday and Friday. Other days will either be morning or afternoon. Laguepie has already seen a significant reduction in hours and other local post offices have closed  totally.
With the increasing use of internet for email, banking and buying one can see that the traditional role of the post office will decline, but there is still a need for cash, for sending parcels (especially "returns") and letters. At least a cash dispenser could be installed in the villages to avoid the need to keep going to larger towns.
