Minced beef and burgers sold under the brands Belliande and Bignasse et Donney by leading supermarkets may have been contaminated by E coli bacteria.
Leclerc, Auchan, Intermarche and SuperU all marketed the products between 25th June and 5th July as well as some independent butchers throughout the south west.
Consumers who still have the products are urged to return them and if consumed may lead to serious abdominal problems - though thorough cooking should avoid this.
