Something different

TOF  report
Regular readers of Tag on line blogspot know we ask our readers to do TOF' report ( TAG on food) when visiting local restaurants.
Today Malc and I after hearing good reports that we have so far never acted on visited this boutique type restaurant at Lexos, between Varen and St. Antonin.
Directly opposite the station at Lexos, an old school house now hosts a restaurant called " L'assiette des tropiques"
The owner Mireille from Cameroon is gaining quite a reputation for good innovative food. We tried to go last week but the restaurant when we arrived was packed out. This week we were there early and got a table. We felt it a good idea to book and if you were a vegetarian phone and Mireille will make something special for you and not just the usual fish or omelette offered.

open lundi, mardi, jeudi 12h 13.30h
vendredi et samedi 19h to 21h30
closed mercredi et dimanche
We loved the place, the bright atmosphere helped the Brexit blues and the food was different and delicious
We will be going again and out of 5, we would both give it 4. For me because I had a quart of wine and it was Gaillac... I am really not a fan of Gaiilac or Cahors.

Hi Val
Good to read your positive report on the little restaurant in Lexos as previous reports I had heard were not so good.  Seems like she is getting her act together and we will definitely give it a try this summer when we are over.
However I feel sure you had “un quart” of wine and not a quart, otherwise I don’t think you would have got home, let alone write a review!
Another positive story from the Connexion online version today is a quote from the recently departed US Ambassador to France:
“One of my esteemed predecessors in this role, and third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, once expressed the sentiment that every man has two countries, his own and France”
(Although purists will note that the actual quote came from an earlier French author)
Best wishes
John

Val says ... I did notice a lot of spelling mistakes after the wine!!!

The dish featured was the most delicious entrée
